SKW buys Master Builders

JAKARTA (JP): Sandoz Ltd. announced yesterday it had completed
the sales of Master Builders Technologies (MBT), its construction
chemical division, to SKW Trostberg AG for 1.3 billion Swiss
francs (US$1.28 billion).

Sandoz said in a statement released here yesterday that
the new SKW-MBT Construction Chemicals Group, as a worldwide
market leader, would generate sales of over 2 billion Swiss
francs this year.

The statement added that each partner in the new group would
be an ideal complement to the other and the group's market
position would further be strengthened.
