Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Special Task Force for the Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) states that a number of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) facility projects scheduled to begin operations from 2026 will add to the national energy supply. SKK Migas Head Djoko Siswanto said several LPG projects are scheduled to come on stream this year to strengthen national energy resilience. “For the one in April, that’s 163 plus 30, roughly around 200 metric tonnes per day,” Djoko said during a hearing with Commission XII of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) in Jakarta on Wednesday. He explained that the main project is located in Cilamaya with an LPG production capacity of 163 metric tonnes per day, targeted to start operating at the end of April 2026. Djoko noted that this additional supply serves as an initial step in strengthening domestic LPG availability. “This April, it can be inaugurated, roughly around 200 metric tonnes per day,” he stated. Furthermore, the government is also planning the construction of LPG facilities in several regions to increase national production capacity in the medium term.
