SKK Migas: Gas Production Reaches 95 Per Cent of State Budget Target
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Head of SKK Migas, Djoko Siswanto, stated that the realisation of natural gas production as of 31 May 2026 has reached 95 per cent of the 2026 State Budget (APBN) target of 984,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
“For gas, thankfully, we have almost reached the target. On average, we have reached 95 per cent of the APBN target,” said Djoko Siswanto during a Hearing Meeting (RDP) with Commission XII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday.
Based on operational data as of 31 May 2026, gas production realisation reached 6,550 MMSCFD (Million Standard Cubic Feet per Day), with monthly figures recorded as follows: January at 6,459 MMSCFD; February at 6,667 MMSCFD; March at 6,659 MMSCFD; April at 6,807 MMSCFD; and May at 6,179 MMSCFD. Meanwhile, the projected gas production until the end of 2026 is 6,787 MMSCFD.
Furthermore, Djoko Siswanto reported a massive natural gas discovery by the Italian energy company, ENI, at the Geliga-1 Well in the Ganal Block, off the coast of East Kalimantan, with a potential of approximately 5 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) and 300 million barrels of condensate.
“There are 34 remaining exploration wells to be drilled. We hope these will result in gas and oil discoveries, particularly oil in Bobara for drilling involving Petronas, Total, and Pertamina. The target is giant oil finds,” said Djoksis, his familiar nickname.
As of 31 May 2026, Djoksis noted that the production of oil, condensate, and Natural Gas Liquid (NGL) up to May 2026 stood at 576.2 thousand barrels of oil per day (MBOPD). Specifically, oil production realisation was 491.3 thousand BOPD; condensate production was 55.8 thousand BOPD; and NGL production was 29.1 thousand BPD.
Djoko Siswanto stated that the projected production of oil, condensate, and NGL until the end of 2026 is expected to be in the range of 600,000–610,000 BOPD. The oil production target stipulated in the 2026 State Budget (APBN) is 610,000 BOPD.
