DEPOK — The skeletal remains of a 56-year-old woman with the initials DH were discovered in a house in the Meruyung area, Limo district, Depok city on Saturday 7 March 2026 at approximately 09:00 WIB.

The remains were found when the victim’s son, identified by the initials L, and his partner R came to the location to clean the house on Friday evening 6 March 2026.

Previously, L and R had visited in February 2026, at which time they found that the victim was away in Sukabumi, West Java.

“According to the account of L and R, their purpose in coming to the victim’s house was to continue cleaning the house in the interior area,” said Cinere Police Sub-precinct Commander Kompol Chairul Saleh when contacted on Monday 9 March 2026.

During their February visit, they noticed the gate was locked with a padlock, but the house door was unlocked. They attempted to force open the padlock until it opened.

Then on Saturday morning 7 March 2026, L and R began cleaning the house by dividing tasks between the kitchen, central area and bedroom. It was at this point that R began cleaning the room and was attempting to organise a pile of clothes into plastic bags.

“When R lifted the carpet covering the pile of clothes, he suddenly saw a pair of human feet that appeared to be skeletal remains with dried skin,” said Chairul.

Based on the crime scene investigation, several items belonging to the victim were found to be missing: one Suzuki Adres motorcycle unit, ignition key and registration certificate, and one mobile phone unit.

To date, police investigation has found that the victim frequently quarrelled with her common-law husband who lived with her. Additionally, scattered coffee powder was found near the victim’s body.

Police are currently conducting examinations of witnesses and conducting an autopsy at Kramat Jati Hospital.
