Skeletal Remains of Woman Discovered by Daughter While Cleaning House in Depok
Police have unveiled the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the remains of a woman identified as DH (55), who was murdered by her unregistered husband Ahmad Ronny Hasiholan in Depok, West Java. The victim’s remains were discovered by her daughter whilst she was cleaning the house.
“According to the witness statement, the purpose of coming to the victim’s house was to continue cleaning the victim’s home in the interior area,” said AKBP Resa Fiardi, Deputy Director of Mobile Crime Unit at the Metro Jaya Police Regional Command, on Tuesday (10 March 2026).
The victim’s daughter arrived at the crime scene located on Jalan Damai Raya, RT 05 RW 11, Meruyung Village, Limo District, Depok City, on the evening of Friday 6 March. The following day, the witness began cleaning the victim’s home, dividing tasks with her partner. One person cleaned the kitchen area whilst the other worked in the bedroom.
“When the witness began cleaning the bedroom, she intended to place piles of clothing into plastic bags,” Fiardi explained.
Upon lifting the carpet from the pile of clothing, the witness suddenly observed a pair of human feet. The feet appeared to be skeletal, with dried skin.
“The witness then reported the matter to the neighbourhood chair, who subsequently informed Cinere Police Station,” he stated.
The perpetrator absconded with the victim’s motorcycle and mobile phone. Police arrested Ahmad Ronny Hasiholan following the murder of his unregistered wife DH (55). Ronny took the victim’s mobile phone and left the crime scene with the victim’s motorcycle.
“The suspect immediately took the victim’s mobile phone and left the residence (crime scene) by riding the victim’s motorcycle,” said AKBP Resa.
Ronny was arrested on Sunday 8 March. The arrest followed a series of investigations by detectives, who successfully identified the perpetrator.
“The suspect was subsequently taken to the Mobile Crime Unit, Regional Detective Command at Metro Jaya Police Regional Command for further investigation,” he added.
Details of the murder emerged during the investigation. DH had entered into an unregistered marriage with Ahmad Ronny Hasiholan in December 2024. In mid-October 2025, the victim and suspect quarrelled, with the victim screaming and demanding that the suspect leave.
At that point, the suspect immediately covered the victim’s mouth with his right hand. The victim attempted to resist by scratching the suspect.
“After that, the suspect immediately strangled the victim with his left hand until the victim became weak and defenceless,” said AKBP Resa.
The suspect then obtained a length of rope and tied it around the victim’s neck. The suspect waited and observed the victim’s condition for approximately one hour.
“After the victim had died, the suspect immediately pulled the victim into her bedroom and covered her with a carpet,” he concluded.
