Skeletal Remains of Murder Victim Found in Forest in NTT, Three Arrested
Skeletal remains were found in the forest of Kampung Baru, Dusun Aitiris B, Meotroi Village, Laenmanen District, Malaka, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). The remains were identified as the victim of a murder, and the suspected perpetrators have been apprehended.
As reported by detikBali, the Chief of Police of Malaka, AKBP Riki Ganjar Gumilar, stated that the victim was named Antonius Nana (47). On Monday (May 11th) morning, a friend came to his house to look for him but only met Antonius’s wife, Leonarda Belak.
Leonarda told her friend that Antonius had left the house since April 28th, 2026, after an argument. The argument began when Antonius cut open a sack containing corn. After the incident, Antonius immediately left his house.
The family had filed a missing person report. On Tuesday (May 12th) at 1:30 PM, residents found skeletal remains in the forest near the Kalalaran riverbed, Meotroi Village. The identification revealed that the remains were those of the missing Antonius.
“After receiving the report, police officers, assisted by residents, conducted a search. The victim had been missing from his house since April 28th, 2026, and when found, only the skull remained,” Riki told detikBali on Friday (May 15th, 2026).
Three people, with the initials YDA, ADN, and AN, have been detained in connection with the alleged murder of Antonius. However, Riki declined to disclose details of the murder case.
“This cannot be revealed yet because the investigation is still ongoing,” Riki explained.
