Skeletal remains of a woman found in a house in Depok
The body of a woman was found in a skeletal state in Meruyung, Limo, Depok. The victim was found by her son when he went to clean the house.
The police said the victim’s body was identified by the initials DH (56). It was found by the victim’s son and his girlfriend. The son had come to clean the house on that occasion.
‘Witness R and witness L came to the victim’s house in the early morning planning to clean the victim’s house,’ said the Cinere Police Chief in a statement on Sunday (8 March 2026).
Their arrival at the victim’s house was the second time since February 2026. At that time, L and R went to the victim’s house after receiving information from their aunt with initials T that the victim was at a school friend’s house in Sukabumi, West Java.
‘Thus the victim’s house was empty. Based on that information, witness L planned to come to the victim’s house to clean,’ he said.
In February 2026, L and R arrived at the victim’s house with the gate locked by a padlock from the outside. L and R then forcibly opened the padlock.
‘After the padlock was opened, witnesses L and R moved to the door of the house and discovered that the door was unlocked,’ he noted.
L and R entered the house, which was in a state of disarray. Witness L briefly saw a pile of clothes on the floor.
‘At that time the witnesses did not suspect anything because they did not smell any abnormal odour from inside the rooms,’ he stated.
Because the house was in disarray, L and R delayed cleaning the interior of the house. They only cleaned the yard.
After cleaning the yard, L and R left the victim’s house and changed the gate lock with a new one. On Friday (6 March) at 23:00 WIB, L and R returned to the victim’s house and slept in the living room.
‘The witnesses L and R’s stated purpose in coming to the victim’s house was to continue cleaning the interior of the house,’ he stated.
Then, on Saturday (7 March), around 09:00 WIB, witnesses L and R began cleaning the interior of the house and divided tasks. Witness L cleaned the central area and the bedroom.
When witness R started cleaning the bedroom, R planned to put a pile of clothes into a plastic bag.
‘Soon after witness R uncovered the carpet on the pile of clothes, witness R suddenly saw a pair of feet belonging to a person whose skin had dried out,’ he explained.
After seeing this, witnesses R and L reported to the local RT head and informed Cinere Police to investigate the case. The case remains under police investigation.
