Sizzler... oh Sizzler...

On Jan. 27, we went to the Sizzler restaurant on Jl. Thamrin, which was our favorite place to dine in the city. It looked like we were the first guests. When I walked towards the salad bar, I noticed that most of the food displayed that day was not fresh, and obviously was left over from the previous day. I was surprised to find that the chicken pot of chicken porridge, supposedly hot and tasty, was rather cold and only one-quarter full. My auntie, who was first to help herself to the salad bar, vomited because the corn had already gone bad.

We told the waitress and they promised to bring fresh chicken porridge in 15 minutes. The manager, Mr. HS, finally came out, and we told him what was going on. We also told him wanted to get our money back, because it was impossible to dine happily there when we were not sure whether the food served was really as fresh as their brochure had claimed.

Without saying a word, the young manager arrogantly helped the cashier return our money and left. The waitresses were more courteous and put on a friendly smile on our way out.

Has business gone so bad that Sizzler is compromising food quality and its reputation for the sake of profit?
