Six years for killing soldier
BANDARLAMPUNG: An ex-convict was sentenced to six years and
six months imprisonment by the local district court for murdering
a member of the Armed Forces.
The Tanjungkarang District Court found M. Solihin bin Jumasan,
alias Saleh Solar, 28, guilty of stabbing Suparman on June 11,
1993, following a fierce fight between the two, Antara reported.
Solar had been released in August after serving time for
assault. He was arrested again the following day on suspicion of
killing Suparman a year earlier.
The defendant has an eye injury sustained when police shot
him, while he was attempting to escape. (sim)
