Six wanted over Rp 300m robbery

JAKARTA (JP): Six people are wanted for a Rp 300 million (US$26,700) armed robbery at a residence in the Pamulang Estate residential complex in Tangerang.

Pamulang Police chief Adj. Comr. Wiyarso said the incident occurred at 2 a.m. on Monday at the house of Jeffrey Roy Sopahua, 41, located in Block H of the residential complex.

Six masked robbers, all armed with sharp weapons, broke into Jeffrey's home and threatened to kill Jeffrey and his wife if they made a noise, Wiyarso said.

Police stated that the robbers made off with two Rolex watches, gold and diamond jewelry worth Rp 150 million, a video compact disc (VCD) player, two mobile phones and Rp 1.2 million in cash. (ylt)
