Kendari (ANTARA) - Six transmigration areas spread across West Papua, Southeast Sulawesi, and South Sulawesi have been designated as deployment locations for participants who pass the selection for the 2026 Patriot Expedition Team (TEP).

Abdullah Sanusi, Director of Student Affairs at Hasanuddin University (Unhas) and the Person in Contact (PIC) for TEP Unhas, stated in Kendari on Tuesday that the six locations under Unhas coordination include Weri Saharey, Wakorumba, Anawua, Pitu Riase, Asinua, and Routa.

“Participants who are declared successful will be placed in these various assignment locations. We hope they can carry out their mandate well and provide a real contribution to the community and national development,” said Abdullah Sanusi.

He noted that the selection results for this initiative by the Ministry of Transmigration are scheduled to be officially announced on Tuesday (2/6) at 23:00 WITA, following a plenary meeting and the issuance of a Ministerial Decree.

Abdullah explained that interest among the younger generation in developing transmigration areas is very high. A total of 1,182 applicants participated in the selection through the Unhas pathway. Of that number, 340 individuals (28.8 per cent) are Unhas alumni, while 842 (71.2 per cent) come from various other universities.

However, due to the intense competition, only 125 participants from the thousands of applicants were declared successful to fill the TEP 2026 formations.

“The TEP selection process has been very competitive. We appreciate all participants who have undertaken the stages with such dedication. Regardless of tonight’s results, the selection experience serves as important preparation for building leadership and social awareness,” he added.

He urged all participants to remain calm while awaiting the official announcement and emphasised that all information regarding the selection results should only refer to the official channels published by the Ministry of Transmigration.
