Secretary General of the Indonesian Garment and Textile Association (AGTI) Rizal Tanzil Rakhman said investment in six textile and garment (TPT) industry companies throughout 2025 until August 2026 has the potential to create around 9,000 to 9,800 new jobs.

“Investment in the textile and garment industry does not only bring production facilities. This investment also creates jobs, increases exports, drives logistics, and fosters new economic activity around industrial estates,” Rizal said in a written statement in Jakarta on Thursday.

In Brebes Regency, PT Xinhai Knitting Indonesia is projected to absorb around 6,000 workers through the construction of a modern textile factory intended to serve the export market.

Meanwhile, the development of an integrated textile manufacturing area in Subang Smartpolitan by PT Binkova Textiles Indonesia, PT Dafei Textile Indonesia, and PT Serendipity Fashion Indonesia is estimated to absorb around 3,000 to 3,800 workers.

Furthermore, PT FHG Tekstil Indonesia in Demak Regency has recruited around 600 local workers since it began operations. As for PT Citra Terus Makmur in Sumedang Regency, according to Rizal, the company has completed the expansion of its production facilities, although it has not yet published the number of additional workers absorbed.

Beyond these investment projects, the recommencement of operations at PT Wong Hang Bersaudara and PT Akarsa Garment in Pemalang Regency has also succeeded in restoring around 1,500 job opportunities previously affected by operational shutdowns.

Rizal said the success in attracting investment cannot be separated from the support of various ministries and regional governments in creating a conducive business climate.

“The synergy between the central government, regional governments, and business actors needs to be continuously strengthened. With competitive supplies of raw materials and energy, skilled labour, investment facilitation, export access, as well as oversight of illegal imports and unfair trade practices, the TPT industry has a significant opportunity to continue growing and become a driver of national job creation,” Rizal said.
