Six Teenagers Assault and Bully Junior High School Student in Jimbaran

A video circulating on social media shows an act of bullying against a junior high school student in the Jimbaran area of South Kuta, Badung, Bali. The recording quickly went viral as it depicted the victim being beaten by a group of peers in an open area. The victim has been identified by the initials IGDA (13). Meanwhile, the six children suspected of involvement in the bullying are identified as HA (14), IPTAP (14), KGDP (14), IGPM (13), AB (15), and IKJAP (13). In the video, IGDA is seen being kicked until he falls, punched as if he were a punching bag, and shoved by the perpetrators. Despite this treatment, the victim did not fight back and only appeared to raise both hands. The incident occurred at the Wantilan Kuari of the Jimbaran Traditional Village, on Jalan Wanagiri, Jimbaran, South Kuta, Badung, on Friday (5/6/2026) at around 11.00 WITA. However, the video was only uploaded and subsequently went viral on social media on Thursday (11/6/2026). After the video spread widely, the South Kuta Police, together with community leaders and the Bendesa Adat of Jimbaran, stepped in to mediate between the two parties. The meeting was held on Sunday (14/6/2026) at 18.00 WITA at the residence of the Jro Bendesa Adat Jimbaran. The case has been resolved amicably through the drafting of a written statement. Denpasar Police Public Relations Officer Iptu I Gede Adi Saputra Jaya stated that the matter was settled within the family. ‘It has been resolved amicably by making a written statement. The victim’s parents consider this incident resolved and hope that such an event will not happen again,’ he said on Monday (15/6/2026). During the mediation, the victim’s parents also expressed their hope that similar incidents would not recur, considering that all parties still live in the same village and banjar. However, they stressed that the perpetrators’ actions cannot be considered mere jokes. Meanwhile, representatives of the suspected perpetrators’ parents conveyed an apology to the victim and his family. They also expressed hope that their children could apologise directly and return to being on good terms as before.
