Six-Storey Building in Gambir Sealed for Fifth Time Over Permit Violation

A building violating permit regulations in the Gambir area of Central Jakarta has been sealed once again by the Central Jakarta Cipta Karya, Tata Ruang, dan Pertanahan (CKTRP) Sub-department. Officers have now sealed the tall structure five times.

The six-storey building was sealed after construction activity was still found despite previously being subject to a stop-work sanction. The building is located on Jalan Saluran PHB Petojo Selatan, Petojo Utara Urban Village, Gambir.

Head of the Central Jakarta CKTRP Sub-department, Yunita Indrasti, stated that the re-sealing was carried out as a follow-up to the ongoing construction activity at the site.

“Earlier this morning the team carried out the re-sealing at around 09.00 WIB,” Yunita said, as reported by Antara on Thursday (30/7/2026).

She said the sealing action was the fifth law enforcement measure against the building, which has violated permit regulations. The building had previously been subject to an activity restriction sanction on 11 February 2026 for breaching the building permit provisions.

According to the permit held, the building was only allowed to have four storeys, but in practice it was built up to six storeys plus a rooftop floor.

At that time, the Central Jakarta CKTRP Sub-department installed a seal and padlocked the building, ordering all workers to halt construction activity.

Meanwhile, Head of the Building Section at the Central Jakarta CKTRP Sub-department, Sandra Alexandra, had previously stressed that no construction activity is permitted while the government seal and padlock remain in place.

“As long as our padlock is still attached, no construction activity is allowed. If there is any, the threat is criminal prosecution,” Sandra said.
