Six robbers abscond with Rp 5m

BOGOR, West Java: Six armed men absconded with Rp 5 million in cash from a house in Pejeleran village here on early Wednesday morning after threatening to rape their victim's daughter.

The victim, Nazat, 45, told the Bogor police that the robbery started at 1.30 a.m. The bandits broke into the house by prying open a window.

Three of the robbers entered Nazat's room where he and his 35- year-old-wife Yanah, were sleeping. Three others entered his daughter's room.

Nazat said the robbers, brandishing knives, threatened to rape his daughter, Lasmi, 20, if he refused to show them where he kept his money.

Nazat, afraid, showed them his safe. The bandits took away Rp 5.2 million in cash, a wristwatch and a jacket.

Bogor Police are still investigating the case. (21)
