Six nominations for song contest

JAKARTA (JP): The city administration has announced six
nominations in the city song writing competition under the theme
of the city's slogan: Teguh Beriman.

Teguh Beriman is an abbreviation of Teruskan gerakan untuk
hidup bersih, indah, menarik, manusiawi dan aman (Continuing the
movement to live a healthy, secure, humane and satisfying life).

The competition is aimed at popularizing the slogan among
Jakartans.

Three of the six nominated songs have the same titles,
"Jakarta Teguh Beriman," written by Dini Sidin, Angga Widodo and
Hage.

The other three songs are "Jadikan Jakarta Bersih" or Make
Jakarta Clean by Icky Basuki, "Kharisma Jakarta" or the Charisma
of Jakarta by Weddy Chandra and "Jakarta Kota Kita" or Jakarta:
Our City by Dedeng Syahbudin.

The finalists were selected from 155 entries received by the
jury. The grand final will be held at Ratu Plaza Music Hall 21,
Central Jakarta, on Jan. 31.

The city administration has provided a total of Rp 11 million
(US$5,200) in prizes for the selected top five songwriters.(mas)
