Six local wrestlers to compete in Europe

JAKARTA (JP): Six South Kalimantan wrestlers chosen for the
national Southeast Asian (SEA) Games team will compete in several
trial matches in Europe.

The athletes are three brothers Andri (62 kilograms),
Zulhaidir (56 kilograms) and Novrizal (68 kilograms), and Azhari
(74 kilograms), Surya Saputra (52 kilograms) and Ridwan Drama (48
kilograms).

The secretary of the Indonesian Sports Council South
Kalimantan chapter, Gusti Imansyah, said in Banjarmasin yesterday
that Rumania was one trial match venue.

"Rumania was chosen not because we have a Rumanian wrestling
coach but for the wrestlers to get a chance to face Rumanian
wrestlers," Gusti was quoted by Antara as saying.

Gusti said the Indonesian Wrestling Association had chosen
nine wrestlers from South Kalimantan for SEA Games training in
Jakarta but only three were selected for the team. (lnt)
