The investigation into the discovery of a woman’s skeletal remains in Meruyung Limo, Cinere, Depok has become increasingly clear. Police have unveiled facts following the arrest of the victim’s unregistered husband.

Ahmad Ronny Hasiholan, aged 44, is the man who killed the victim, DH, aged 55. Ronny was arrested by a combined team from the Crime Investigation Unit’s Robbery and Mobility Division (Subdit Tahbang/Resmob Ditreskrimum) of the Metro Jaya Regional Police on Sunday, 8 March at Cipete Raya Street, Jatimulya, Tambun Selatan, Bekasi Regency.

The case came to light after the victim’s family reported to police regarding the discovery of the remains on Saturday, 7 March. At that time, the victim’s child and her partner were cleaning the house.

They reported the case to the police. One day later, police arrested Ronny.

Here are the latest facts of the case:

  1. Religious Marriage in December 2024

Ronny and DH were married in a religious ceremony on 31 December 2024. They lived together in Klapanunggal, Bogor until April 2025. After that, they moved to DH’s house in Meruyung, Limo, Depok.

  1. Murder Occurred in October 2025

Ronny and DH’s religious marriage lasted less than one year. In October 2025, a major quarrel resulted in the murder.

During the heated argument, victim DH evicted Ronny from the house. Ronny attempted to cover DH’s mouth with his right hand. The victim resisted by scratching.

“After that, the suspect immediately strangled the victim using his left hand until the victim became weak and helpless,” police stated.

The suspect then took a rope and tied it around the victim’s neck. The suspect then waited and observed the victim’s condition for approximately one hour.

Ronny then dragged the victim’s body to the bedroom and covered it with a carpet. He then fled, taking the victim’s mobile phone and motorcycle.

  1. Motive for Murder

In a statement to police, Ronny confessed that he killed his unregistered wife because his feelings were hurt after being evicted by the victim. Additionally, the perpetrator killed the victim due to economic problems.

“The suspect, who was known to have no employment, felt hurt after being evicted from the house by the victim. He then committed the act of murder,” said the Head of Public Relations for Metro Jaya Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto, to journalists on Monday, 9 March 2026.

Ronny then scattered coffee powder over the victim’s body and surrounding area to conceal the odour of the body’s decomposition. The victim’s body was also covered with carpet.

  1. Took Victim’s Phone and Motorcycle

Police arrested Ronny in Bekasi after he killed his unregistered wife, DH, aged 55, in Depok. Ronny took the victim’s mobile phone and motorcycle.

“The suspect immediately took the victim’s mobile phone and left the crime scene with the victim’s motorcycle,” said the Deputy Head of the Robbery and Mobility Division, Investigation Unit, Metro Jaya Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Resa Fiardi, on Tuesday, 10 March.

Ronny was arrested on Sunday, 8 March. The arrest was made after investigators conducted a series of investigations and successfully identified the perpetrator.

“Subsequently, the suspect was brought to the Robbery and Mobility Division 3 of the Investigation Unit, Metro Jaya Regional Police for further investigation,” he added.

  1. Remains Discovered by Victim’s Child While Cleaning House

Police revealed how the discovery of the skeletal remains of the woman in Depok occurred. The victim’s body was discovered by her child whilst cleaning the house.

“According to the witness’s statement, the purpose of coming to the victim’s house was to continue cleaning the victim’s house in the interior area,” said Senior Commissioner Resa.

The victim’s child came to the house which became the crime scene at RT 05 RW 11, Meruyung Village, Limo District, Depok City on Friday evening, 6 March. They rested there for one night.

The following day, Saturday, 7 March, the victim’s child and her partner began cleaning the victim’s house. One of them cleaned the kitchen area, whilst another cleaned the bedroom.

When the witness uncovered the carpet in a pile of clothes, suddenly a pair of human feet became visible. At that moment, the feet appeared to show bone and desiccated skin.

  1. Unregistered Husband Becomes Suspect

Police have designated Ronny Hasiholan as the suspect in the murder of DH. The perpetrator’s unregistered husband is currently undergoing questioning.

“He has been designated as a suspect; the criminal charges will follow,” said the Head of Public Relations for Metro Jaya Regional Police, Senior Commissioner Budi Hermanto.

The suspect killed the victim because he felt angry following a quarrel and being evicted from the house by the victim. Ronny has been charged under Article 458 of the Indonesian Criminal Code with a maximum prison sentence of 15 years and potentially an additional one-third of the principal sentence.
