Six killed in road crash

PURWOREJO, Central Java: Six people were killed and six others
seriously injured when a train slammed into a passenger bus in
Kutoarjo, near here, on Sunday. Three were killed on the spot and
three others died in a hospital.

The Purnama Indah bus was crossing the railway on Sunday
morning when it was hit by the Senja Utama train which was on its
way from Jakarta to Solo.

Witnesses said the level-crossing guard had already lifted the
gate, not knowing that there was a second train approaching. The
bus was dragged some 40 meters before it came to a stop.
