Six Iranian military personnel killed in latest US attack

Tehran (ANTARA) - Six personnel from the Iranian Navy Artesh were killed in a United States attack on Iran on Tuesday (1/9) night local time, as reported by the semi-official Iranian news agency, Mehr, on Thursday (3/9).

The report revealed that among the casualties were three pilots identified as Mojtaba Baqeri, Hamed Okati, and Hossein Mahdavian.

In a post on the social media platform X on Thursday, the Head of Public Relations for the Iranian Ministry of Health, Hossein Kermanpour, stated that 18 people were killed and 142 others injured in US attacks on Iran between 30 August and 2 September.

On Wednesday (2/9) morning, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) stated on the X platform that its forces had “successfully completed a wave of attacks against Iranian military targets,” citing “recent attack attempts by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps against commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and American military personnel.”

Iran responded by attacking US bases and assets in Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, the semi-autonomous Kurdistan region in Iraq, and the United Arab Emirates.
