Six Indramayu Accident Victims Still Undergoing Treatment

Six passengers of a pick-up truck involved in a traffic accident on the Pantura route in Indramayu are still undergoing treatment at Mitra Plumbon Widasari Hospital. The injured victims have been identified as Olivia (4), Bayu Kelana (8), Wandi (29), Saba (11), Jesika (2), and Salma Yanti (4). All are residents of Cemeti Kulon Block, Cempeh Village, Lelea District, Indramayu Regency. The Sub-Directorate for Law Enforcement of the West Java Regional Police Traffic Directorate, AKBP Jimmy Manurung, accompanied by Indramayu Police Traffic Unit Chief AKP Undang Syarif Hidayat, visited the victims to ensure they were receiving proper medical care and to gather data regarding the incident. He stated that the victims suffered injuries to the face, head, internal organs, and bone fractures due to the impact. Meanwhile, Indramayu Regent Lucky Hakim visited the homes of the deceased to pay his respects and provide assistance to the twelve heirs. He expressed his deepest condolences and noted that the loss of twelve lives has left deep trauma for the families and sorrow for the entire Indramayu community. The Regent urged that the incident serve as a lesson for all road users to exercise greater caution and called for a thorough evaluation by the government and police to prevent similar occurrences in the future. The accident occurred when a pick-up truck carrying a wedding party stopped in the right lane to make a U-turn and was struck from behind by a box truck. The impact pushed the pick-up into the opposite lane, where it was hit by another truck, resulting in twelve fatalities.
