Six Houses Set Ablaze in Cileungsi, Bogor; One Person Faints

Six residential houses in Dayeuh Village, Cileungsi District, Bogor, West Java, were destroyed by fire this afternoon. One person was reported to have fainted during the incident.

“The objects on fire were residential buildings; one victim fainted,” stated the Head of the Bogor Regency Fire Department, Yudi Santosa, in a statement on Tuesday (1/9/2026).

The fire occurred at approximately 10:30 WIB. Yudi explained that the blaze began when one of the homeowners spotted flames at the rear of their property.

“The fire had already grown large and high; the homeowner immediately became hysterical and shouted for help,” he said.

Before long, the flames spread to several neighbouring houses. Subsequently, one resident fainted after witnessing their home being consumed by the fire.

“One of the homeowners, upon seeing their house burning, lost consciousness and fainted,” he added.

Local residents reported the incident to the nearest fire brigade. Upon receiving the report, firefighters immediately rushed to the scene.

Firefighters began firefighting operations immediately upon arrival. In addition to the six houses, the fire also destroyed two motorcycles belonging to residents.

“The losses include one house with 60 per cent damage, five houses heavily damaged with 100 per cent destruction of their contents, and two motorcycles severely damaged,” he explained.

Yudi stated that there were no fatalities in the fire. The flames have since been extinguished, though the cause of the fire remains unknown.

“The final situation is that the fire has been successfully extinguished; the handling process took 2.5 hours. The source or cause of the fire is not yet known,” he concluded.
