Six Foreign Nationals Deported from Bali for Disorderly Conduct and Overstay
The Denpasar Immigration Detention Centre (Rudenim) has deported six foreign nationals proven to have committed immigration violations and breached public order in Bali. The offences ranged from causing disturbances and damaging facilities to failing to pay food bills and overstaying their residence permits.
Head of Rudenim Denpasar, Teguh Mentalyadi, identified the six individuals as RNB (54) from New Zealand, FRP (51) from Canada, and four Indian nationals with the initials SS (27), GS (21), BS (32), and SSP (29).
“The deportations were carried out because various violations of public order and overstaying were discovered,” Teguh Mentalyadi stated on Friday evening (12/6/2026).
Teguh explained that FRP was detained after being reported for running amok and damaging several properties at the Griya Adi Jaya Housing Complex in Sukasada District, Buleleng Regency, on 9 May 2026. After being secured by the Buleleng Police, FRP was handed over to the Singaraja Class II TPI Immigration Office on 11 May 2026 before being transferred to Rudenim Denpasar two days later to await the deportation process.
“While awaiting deportation, he was transferred to Rudenim Denpasar two days later. Even though his visit stay permit was valid until 18 June 2026, he was still dealt with firmly,” he asserted.
The same action was taken against Indian national SSP, who was detained by the Ubud Police. He was apprehended at a hotel on Jalan Monkey Forest, Ubud, Gianyar, on 23 May 2026. SSP was reported to have run amok, damaged hotel facilities including bottles and glasses, and refused to pay his food and laundry bills.
Beyond public order violations, immigration officers also took action against foreigners who had overstayed. RNB from New Zealand was detained for exceeding his stay permit by 56 days, counting from 26 February 2026. The middle-aged woman was known to have entered Indonesia on 28 January 2026 using a Visa on Arrival (VoA). “She claimed she did not know her visa validity had expired,” Teguh added.
Teguh further explained that another Indian national, SS, who was detained by the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office at a hotel in the Kuta area at the end of April 2026, was also deported for overstaying by 70 days. Meanwhile, GS and BS had exceeded their stay permits by one month, or 30 days.
Regarding the repatriation of the foreigners who violated and failed to comply with regulations in Indonesia, Teguh explained they were flown out from I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport under escort by Rudenim Denpasar officers. The six foreign nationals were flown to their home countries on different dates. RNB was deported first on 10 June 2026, followed by FRP from Canada the next day, and the four Indian nationals on 12 June 2026.
As for the articles applied, FRP and SSP violated Article 75 paragraph (1) of Law Number 6 of 2011 on Immigration. Meanwhile, RNB, SS, GS, and BS violated Article 78 paragraph (2) of the same law. Under Article 102 of Law Number 6 of 2011 on Immigration, entry bans against foreigners can be imposed for five to ten years, or even for life, for those deemed to seriously threaten security and public order.
“The final decision regarding the duration of the entry ban will be determined by the Directorate General of Immigration after considering all aspects of the case,” Teguh added. He also stressed that no tolerance will be shown for any form of violation, whether of immigration rules or acts that disrupt public order by foreign nationals in Bali. “This firm action is a concrete manifestation of Immigration’s commitment to the people in safeguarding security, comfort, and the nation’s dignity from the actions of foreign nationals who disturb public order,” he concluded.
