Six escape from Magelang prison

MAGELANG, Central Java: Police in the Magelang area have
launched a manhunt for six convicts who escaped from a prison
here on Thursday night.

"We have coordinated and contacted all police stations in
Central Java," Magelang Police chief Lt. Col. Pranowo Haryanto
said here on Friday.

He told The Jakarta Post that the six convicts escaped by
breaking the lock in their cell and climbing over the prison
wall.

Five of the escapees were convicted of robbery and one had
been sentenced for inciting a riot in Kebumen last
