Jakarta — Kampung Rambutan Terminal has begun filling with intercity, inter-provincial bus passengers on the sixth day before Eid, Saturday, 14 March 2026.

Based on observations at the location, the terminal’s waiting areas appeared busy with prospective homebound travellers carrying suitcases and large bags. Meanwhile, bus drivers were seen disembarking from their vehicles to undergo health inspections before resuming their duties.

Around the terminal, combined personnel from the Indonesian military (TNI), national police (Polri), civil enforcement officers (Satpol PP), and the Transport Authority maintained presence at security checkpoints. Police officers also conducted patrols throughout the terminal area, including walking with sniffer dogs to anticipate potential criminal activity.

Kampung Rambutan Terminal head Revi Zulkarnain stated that increased numbers of homebound travellers had already begun appearing since Friday, 13 March 2026, or the seventh day before Eid.

Revi predicted that passenger numbers departing on Saturday could exceed those from the previous day, as morning hours had already shown a spike in traveller arrivals. “As of 10:00 AM this morning, we have recorded over 1,000 passengers. Based on our terminal’s experience, the peak period typically occurs around three to four days before the holiday,” he explained.

“Ticket price increases range from 20 to 30 per cent, with some reaching 50 per cent. There are two categories of tickets: economy and non-economy. Economy tickets are regulated by the government, calculated in rupiah per kilometre. Non-economy tickets, however, are left to the market or individual bus companies to determine,” he added.
