Six Consecutive Years: Jababeka Awarded Green Industrial Estate Status
JAKARTA - PT Jababeka Infrastruktur has once again demonstrated its consistency in environmental management. The manager of the Jababeka-Cikarang Industrial Estate has received the PROPER Green ranking award for 2025 performance from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK). The award was presented at the 2026 PROPER Environmental Awards ceremony at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, Jakarta, on 7 April 2026. The Green ranking is given to companies that manage the environment beyond mandatory standards (beyond compliance). Jababeka was assessed as successfully integrating environmental management systems, resource efficiency, and community empowerment into its estate operations in a tangible manner. The President Director of PT Jababeka Infrastruktur, Didik Purbadi, stated that the stringent government standards serve as a driver of innovation for the company. According to him, government standards are becoming increasingly strict, and the company views this as motivation. The team works hard throughout the year to exceed the set standards. He added that in the future, Jababeka will continue to encourage companies within the estate to remain compliant and exceed environmental standards through collaboration with the government, academics, and the community. This achievement is based on several concrete steps, including the operation of a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) that ensures effluent quality meets standards. The company also developed a Mini Scale Recycle Effluent to reuse treated water. Furthermore, emission control through energy efficiency and waste management based on circular principles. Didik explained that this strategy not only targets industrial technical aspects but also supports thousands of workers and tens of thousands of residents in an integrated ecosystem. Through the Jababeka City Council forum, the company facilitates cross-sector dialogue to ensure that environmentally friendly technological innovations continue to develop. “This commitment is expected to strengthen the future of a more responsible and inclusive national industry,” Didik concluded.
