Six Buyers and Receivers Detained for Misuse of 900 Litres of Pertalite in Manggarai
The Manggarai District Prosecutor’s Office (Kejari) in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) has once again detained six suspects involved in the misuse of 900 litres of subsidised fuel oil (BBM) of the Pertalite type. They are initialled HD, SAR, NU, WW, SS, and YT, who acted as buyers and receivers.
“The Public Prosecutor at the Manggarai District Prosecutor’s Office has received the handover of the suspects and evidence from the investigators of the Manggarai Police Resort, regarding six suspects in the alleged criminal act of misusing the transportation and/or trade of subsidised BBM,” said the Head of the Intelligence Section of Kejari Manggarai, Putu Cakra Ari Perwira, on Friday (10/4/2026).
Putu explained the roles of each suspect. HD, SAR, and NU, he clarified, acted by buying and reselling Pertalite to WW. WW acted by requesting, buying, and storing Pertalite from HD, SAR, and NU.
Meanwhile, SS ordered YT to buy Pertalite. SS then sold the Pertalite at his own mini-POM.
“Suspect YT acted by buying Pertalite BBM on SS’s orders and filling the tank of SS’s Mini POM,” Putu explained.
The name WW is mentioned as a contractor. Kejari Manggarai has not yet been able to confirm this.
“Regarding this, the facts in the file are not yet clear,” said Putu.
The suspects are charged under Article 55 of Law No. 22 of 2001 on Oil and Natural Gas as amended by Article 40 Paragraph 9 of Law No. 6 of 2023 on the Enactment of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law No. 2 of 2022 on Job Creation into Law, in conjunction with Article 20 letters a, c, and d of Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code, in conjunction with Law No. 1 of 2026 on Criminal Adjustment.
A total of 17 people are being prosecuted in the Pertalite misuse case. In early March 2026, Kejari Manggarai detained four suspects who acted as receivers. They are initialled IM, IA, SJ, and VTP. Two of them hold ASN status, namely IA and IM.
Meanwhile, the other seven have been sentenced to prison. They are the crew of the tanker truck that sold the subsidised BBM to the receivers.
