Six Bogor-Jakarta KRL Trips Disrupted After Signal Cables Vandalised
KAI Commuter Indonesia (KCI) has strongly condemned the vandalism of railway signalling infrastructure in the Citayam Station yard. Six KRL journeys on the Bogor-Jakarta Kota route were disrupted as a result of the cable damage.
VP Corporate Secretary of KAI Commuter, Karina Amanda, confirmed the incident on Thursday (23/7/2026), stating that the signalling cables had been deliberately damaged. She noted that follow-up handling of the vandalism would be carried out by PT KAI Daerah Operasi (Daop) 1 Jakarta, though Daop 1 has yet to comment on whether legal action will be pursued.
The vandalism occurred on Thursday morning, causing delays for Commuter Line trains heading towards Citayam Station. Manager Public Relations of KAI Commuter, Leza Arlan, reported that by 8:00 AM Western Indonesia Time, six Bogor-Manggarai/Jakarta Kota services had been delayed, with a total delay time of 30 minutes.
Leza explained that the damage disrupted the signalling system at Citayam Station, forcing staff to manually regulate the entry and exit of commuter trains. The affected services included Commuter Line Bogor numbers 1169, 1003, 1171, 1173, 1175, and 1177. Officers have since repaired the infrastructure and are working to clear the backlog of delayed trains to restore normal service. KAI Commuter urged passengers to follow the instructions and information provided by on-site staff.
