Six Airlines Apply to Fly from Bandung's Husein Airport

PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) has confirmed that preparations to optimise Husein Sastranegara Airport in Bandung are proceeding smoothly, with the airport set to resume jet aircraft services in the near future. Corporate Secretary Group Head Arie Ahsanurrohim stated that coordination is ongoing with all stakeholders. ‘The focus of preparations is fulfilling all operational readiness aspects as stipulated by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation at the Ministry of Transportation,’ Arie explained in a statement on Monday (13/7/2026). Regarding safety aspects, a standby Foam Tender vehicle for emergency response is now available, alongside the fulfilment of supporting facilities for Aviation Accident Assistance and Fire Fighting (PKP-PK) Category 7. On the security side, Screening Check Point (SCP) facilities have been upgraded, including x-ray machines, walkthrough metal detectors (WMTD), and handheld metal detectors (HHTD). ‘Meanwhile, on the airside, work is being carried out to improve the bearing capacity of the runway, taxiway, and apron,’ Arie added. Preparations are also underway for flight connectivity at Husein Sastranegara Airport. Arie noted that InJourney Airports has communicated the operational and service plans to the airlines. In line with this, six airlines have officially applied to operate at the airport. The airlines and their proposed routes from and to Bandung are: Citilink to Kualanamu, Denpasar, and Surabaya; Super Air Jet to Kualanamu, Denpasar, Pekanbaru, Makassar, Batam, Padang, and Balikpapan; Garuda Indonesia to Denpasar; Transnusa to Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, and Lampung; Scoot to Singapore; and Wings Air to Lampung and Palembang. InJourney Airports will manage and ensure the availability of flight slots at the airport to accommodate the demand according to the airport’s capacity. ‘We hope that the flight connectivity at Husein Sastranegara Airport can fully support economic and tourism growth in West Java and Bandung in particular,’ Arie concluded.
