Six Airlines Apply for Jet Routes from Bandung's Husein Airport, Boosting Connectivity

JAKARTA — PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (Persero), or InJourney Airports, has recorded that six airlines have submitted applications to open routes using jet aircraft from Husein Sastranegara Airport in Bandung. This comes as plans progress to optimise the airport’s operations once more.

Arie Ahsanurrohim, Corporate Secretary Group Head of InJourney Airports, said the airlines’ response to the plan to resume operations at Husein Sastranegara Airport has been quite positive.

“To date, six airlines have submitted formal applications to operate,” Arie said in a statement received in Bandung on Monday (20 July 2026).

The six airlines that have applied to operate are Citilink, with planned routes to Kualanamu, Denpasar and Surabaya, and Super Air Jet, with routes to Kualanamu, Denpasar, Pekanbaru, Makassar, Batam, Padang, Balikpapan and Pontianak.

In addition, Garuda Indonesia has applied for routes to Denpasar, TransNusa will serve international routes to Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru as well as a domestic route to Lampung, Scoot will fly to Singapore, and Wings Air will operate routes to Lampung and Palembang.

Arie said that following the airlines’ applications, InJourney Airports will arrange flight slot availability so that all requests can be accommodated in accordance with Husein Sastranegara Airport’s capacity.

“We hope that flight connectivity at Husein Sastranegara Airport can fully support economic and tourism growth in West Java and Bandung in particular,” he said.

According to him, the resumption of jet aircraft operations from Husein Sastranegara Airport is expected to strengthen connectivity for Bandung and West Java, while also having an impact on the development of the tourism, trade, investment and regional economy sectors.
