Situbondo ready to rebuild

SITUBONDO, East Java: The military said it was ready to start rebuilding properties damaged in the October riot, Antara reported.

The military had the funds, material and work force for the job, Maj. Gen. Imam Utomo, the chief of the East Java Military Command, said on Saturday.

With the soldiers help, the rebuilding would take three months, he said.

Dozens of government buildings and churches were gutted or damaged in the October riot. (emb)
