Situbondo (ANTARA) - Commander of Kodim 0823/Situbondo, Lieutenant Colonel Infantry Ferry Ardian, stated that the Situbondo Regency Government in East Java has submitted three locations for the development of the Red and White Fishermen’s Village (KNMP), which is one of President Prabowo Subianto’s priority programmes.

“For Situbondo, the Livestock and Fisheries Department has proposed the construction of the Red and White Fishermen’s Village to the central government,” he said in Situbondo, East Java, on Sunday.

Dandim Ferry mentioned that the Situbondo Regency Government has proposed the KNMP development—a strategic national programme of President Prabowo—at three points, namely in Desa Pesisir, Besuki sub-district (western Situbondo region).

Information received by Kodim Situbondo, he said, which will also escort the acceleration of its construction. The three KNMP development sites have also been surveyed by the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) together with relevant departments.

In addition to the KNMP, Ferry said, Kodim Situbondo will also oversee the construction of 12 Garuda Bridges spread across several villages, and three of the 12 Garuda Bridge points will be suspension bridges.

“Presumably, in May 2026, the Garuda Bridge construction activities will proceed, but it is still awaiting the budget. The Situbondo Public Works and Housing Settlement Department (PUPP) has also surveyed the locations,” he stated.
