The raid aims to establish a secure, orderly, and clean correctional environment free from illegal mobile phones and narcotics.

The East Java Directorate General of Corrections Office conducted a joint raid at Situbondo Class IIB State Prison, finding no drugs or other contraband.

Acting Head of the East Java Directorate General of Corrections, M. Ulin Nuha, stated in Situbondo on Saturday that the operation was carried out to ensure a safe and orderly correctional environment free from illicit items.

“This raid is part of efforts to establish a secure, orderly, and clean correctional environment free from illegal mobile phones and narcotics,” Nuha said.

He added that the activity is part of measures to maintain security and order, ensuring no contraband that could disrupt the rehabilitation of inmates.

Participating forces included Situbondo Police, Subdenpom V/3-5 Situbondo, and Kodim 0823 Situbondo.

Nuha said the joint raid exemplifies collaboration between corrections officials and law enforcement in supporting the halinar programme to combat illegal mobile phones, extortion, and narcotics.

“This operation also aims to prevent various scam tactics that could originate from within the correctional facility,” he added.

Checks were conducted professionally, humanely, and in line with standard operating procedures while prioritising security and order.

The raid found no drugs, illegal mobile phones, or weapons, demonstrating ongoing efforts to maintain a secure, orderly, and violation-free correctional environment.
