Situbondo Police Arrest Two Criminal Suspects on DPO List in Bali

The Resmob unit of the Criminal Investigation Division (Satreskrim) of Situbondo Police, East Java, has arrested two criminal suspects who were on the wanted persons list (DPO) at their hiding places on the island of Bali. One suspect, identified by the initials DEF (38), a resident of Banyuputih District, was apprehended for aggravated theft while working as a construction labourer in Gianyar Regency, Bali Province. The other suspect, KF alias D (40), a resident of Panji District, was arrested in Tianyar, Karangasem Regency, Bali Province, for alleged child molestation. Situbondo Police Chief AKBP Bayu Anuwar Sidiqie stated that the successful arrests were the result of his officers’ hard work in investigating and tracking the perpetrators who attempted to flee legal proceedings. “Our commitment is clear: we will continue to pursue every criminal offender who harms the community until they are caught. Even if they flee to other regions, we will not stop searching,” he said. Head of Criminal Investigation AKP Selimat disclosed that during the arrest of the theft suspect, police also seized several pieces of evidence believed to be linked to the crime. He added that suspect KF had been on the wanted list since December 2025 in connection with alleged sexual violence against a child that occurred in 2024 in the Panji District area. “This molestation suspect had been a DPO for quite some time, and after conducting searches and developing information, we successfully tracked his whereabouts until he was finally arrested in Bali,” he explained. Both suspects have been taken to Situbondo Police headquarters to undergo further investigation according to their respective criminal cases. AKP Selimat added that the Situbondo Criminal Investigation Unit has formed a URC Anti-Robbery Team, which not only focuses on handling street crimes but also serves as a quick reaction unit in uncovering various criminal acts that disturb the community. “The presence of this URC Anti-Robbery Team is a form of Situbondo Police’s commitment to providing a sense of security to the public,” Selimat said.
