Situational Traffic Engineering on Takbiran Night in Jakarta: Key Points and Routes
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Metro Jaya Police are preparing situational traffic engineering for Takbiran night welcoming Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah in the Jakarta area on Friday (20/3/2026).
Traffic flow management will be applied flexibly according to field conditions, particularly in areas that become centres of crowds.
The Head of Public Relations of Metro Jaya Police, Budi Hermanto, stated that several areas focused on regulation include the Monumen Nasional (Monas) area, Bundaran Hotel Indonesia (HI), as well as the Sudirman-Thamrin road corridor and other supporting points.
“Metro Jaya Police have prepared situational traffic engineering in the Monas area, Bundaran HI, as well as the Sudirman-Thamrin corridor and other supporting points,” he said in Jakarta on Friday (20/3/2026).
A total of 903 personnel are on standby specifically for security, safety, order, and smooth traffic (kamseltibcarlantas) duties.
In addition, Metro Jaya Police are deploying a total of 1,810 personnel to secure Takbiran night in DKI Jakarta. This number consists of 1,759 personnel from Metro Jaya Police and 51 personnel from sector police resorts.
These thousands of personnel are placed in several mapped security sectors, with the main focus on the Monas area, Bundaran HI, and the Sudirman-Thamrin corridor.
The personnel distribution includes Sector A Monas with 100 personnel, Sector B Monas with 274 personnel, Sector C Bundaran HI with 533 personnel, as well as 903 personnel for kamseltibcarlantas.
This security measure is carried out to ensure that the series of Takbiran night activities run safely, orderly, and conducive amid increasing public activity.
Acting Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Ujang Harmawan, explained that the event will also feature a Takbiran night torch parade with a route passing through several central city points, starting from the Southwest Gate Monas Intersection, Bundaran Bank Indonesia, Jalan MH Thamrin, and ending at Bundaran HI.
