Situational Open-Close System Applied at All Cipali Toll Road Rest Areas
A situational open-close system is now in effect at all rest areas along the Cikopo-Palimanan (Cipali) toll road, enforced by police and Astra Tol Cipali staff during the return traffic period starting on Tuesday, 24 March.
This system is applied at rest areas located at KM 86, 102, 130, and 166 on the one-way lane. It is also implemented at rest areas at KM 164, 130, 101, and 77 on the normal lane.
If customers find a rest area closed, they are advised not to stop on the roadside or force a queue on the main lane near the access entrance, as this could trigger traffic slowdowns.
Users are requested to head to the next rest area or utilise rest facilities outside the nearest toll gate.
Ardam Rafif Trisilo, Head of Sustainability Management & Corporate Communications at Astra Tol Cipali, stated that the purpose of implementing the open-close system is to maintain user comfort.
“We guarantee that the total accumulated toll fee remains the same (based on the kilometres travelled) even if road users exit and enter the toll gates for rest,” he said in an official statement, quoted by Antara.
The return one-way traffic flow towards Jakarta on the Cipali toll road was observed to increase today, Tuesday, from 00.00 WIB to 17.00 WIB. Approximately 74,000 vehicles passed through the former Cikopo Toll Gate or about 92 percent compared to the same period yesterday.
Ardam urged every road user to always prioritise safety, maintain a safe distance between vehicles, and comply with instructions from on-site officers during the traffic engineering implementation.
Users are also advised not to change lanes or use U-turns while the one-way system is in place.
