Situational Open-Close Policy Implemented for Rest Area at KM 57 on Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road

To maintain smooth traffic flow during the 1447H/2026 Eid al-Fitr homecoming period, PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) and the police are enforcing situational open-close access to the Rest Area at KM 57 A towards Cikampek on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road. This arrangement serves as a precautionary step against potential vehicle density from entries and exits at the rest area, given the high public mobility towards the eastern Trans Java regions during the homecoming period. Vice President Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, stated that the traffic engineering involving open-close access to the rest area is intended to preserve smooth vehicle flow on the main toll route. “The open-close access regulation to the Rest Area at KM 57 A towards Cikampek is carried out situationally at the discretion of the police, considering on-site traffic conditions. This is done to anticipate vehicle queues that could potentially disrupt smooth traffic flow on the main route,” Ria said in an official statement on Sunday, 22 March 2026. As an alternative, JTT urges road users to utilise other rest areas along the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road segment or the subsequent Trans Java route to avoid concentrated density at one point, such as the Cipularang-Padaleunyi Toll Road segment towards Bandung. This step is expected to help distribute vehicles more evenly, ensuring journeys remain smooth and comfortable.
