Siti Fauziah urges MSMEs to boost competitiveness through product curation
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Plt Secretary General of the MPR RI, Siti Fauziah, is encouraging micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) players to improve product quality through strengthened legality, packaging, branding, and digital marketing in order to compete in both national and international markets. According to Siti Fauziah, capacity building for MSMEs must be carried out continuously because the sector is the backbone of the national economy, playing a major role in creating jobs and driving the community’s economy. “MSMEs are the backbone of the Indonesian economy that must be continuously encouraged to move up a class. MSME products must have good quality, clear legality, attractive packaging, strong branding, and be able to utilise digital marketing to compete in national and even international markets,” Siti said in a statement in Jakarta on Sunday. During a coaching and product curation event for the creative economy towards the launch of Pasar Jadoel Reborn Sapta Tirta Pabelan in Karanganyar, Central Java, on Saturday (11/7), Siti assessed that the development of Pasar Jadoel Reborn Sapta Tirta Pabelan is an example of community-based economic empowerment because it combines cultural potential, tourism, and the people’s economy in one area. She believes this model can encourage local economic growth while maintaining the sustainability of cultural values. “I see that Pasar Jadoel Reborn has a very good concept because it combines culture, tourism, and the people’s economy in one area. This spirit of mutual cooperation needs to be maintained so that it can become an example of community-based tourism development that drives the local economy,” she said. Siti Fauziah also appreciated the collaboration between local governments, MSME players, creative economy communities, businesses, and the community in preparing for the launch of Pasar Jadoel Reborn. She stated that this synergy is important capital for strengthening the people’s economy while expanding business development opportunities based on local potential. Chairman of the Pasar Jadoel Reborn Sapta Tirta Pabelan Association, Yonatan Liliek Prihartanto, said that the coaching and product curation is an initial step to strengthen Pasar Jadoel Reborn as a cultural tourism destination and a centre for the creative economy that benefits the community. “We express our deepest gratitude and highest appreciation to the Plt Secretary General of the MPR RI and all parties who have provided support, energy, thoughts, time, prayers, and other assistance so that this activity could be carried out well, smoothly, and with a spirit of togetherness,” he said. Yonatan hopes that strengthening collaboration among stakeholders can build a creative economy ecosystem based on local potential so that Pasar Jadoel Reborn Sapta Tirta Pabelan can develop into one of the cultural tourism icons of Karanganyar Regency, capable of improving community welfare through the MSME and creative economy sectors.
