Acting Secretary General of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI), Siti Fauziah, has praised the smooth running of the 2026 National Grand Final of the MPR RI Four Pillars Quiz Competition. She said this year’s competition showed an improvement in participants’ abilities. The event also produced surprises, with a DKI Jakarta representative reaching the final round for the first time and participants from Kalimantan dominating the field.

Siti Fauziah made the remarks after the grand final at Nusantara IV Building, Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (26/8/2026). “Alhamdulillah, the 2026 MPR RI Four Pillars Quiz Competition grand final has been completed. I am very proud that this activity could be carried out smoothly,” she said in a written statement on Thursday (27/8/2026).

According to her, the Four Pillars quiz is not merely a knowledge competition among students. It also serves as a means to broaden understanding, appreciation and application of the values of the MPR RI’s Four Pillars in daily life. There were positive developments in the pattern of questions and the abilities of participants this year. Participants were no longer only required to memorise material, but also had to be able to reason, understand the substance of issues, and connect them with the implementation of Four Pillars values.

“I salute and am proud because they could answer memorisation, reasoning and implementation questions in daily life very well,” she said. “Now it is not just memorising, but implementing or formulating the application of the meaning of these Four Pillars. In the past, most memorised; now they do not. Our questions are more directed at the ability to reason or understand the substance of a problem we ask about,” she added.

One notable aspect of this year’s grand final was the increasingly diverse range of regions that managed to send representatives to the final round. Of the four teams that advanced to the final, two came from Kalimantan, namely Central Kalimantan and North Kalimantan. The other two came from DKI Jakarta and West Java. She said this composition was a positive indicator that the Four Pillars quiz is increasingly able to reach and produce outstanding participants from various regions of Indonesia, not only from Java.

“This is a source of pride for us at the MPR because we can organise an activity that is not only participated in or dominated by participants from Java,” she said. Kalimantan even recorded the highest achievement in the 2026 MPR RI Four Pillars quiz. Group B from SMAN 2 Katingan Kuala, Central Kalimantan, emerged as first-place winner with 140 points. The next positions were occupied by Group C from SMAN 8 South Jakarta, DKI Jakarta, with 75 points, Group A from SMAN 1 Tanjung Selor, North Kalimantan, with 70 points, and Group D from SMAN 2 Bogor, West Java, with 65 points.

Besides Kalimantan’s achievement, she paid special attention to the success of the DKI Jakarta representative, which reached the grand final for the first time. She said this achievement showed increased participation and enthusiasm from DKI Jakarta participants in the Four Pillars quiz. “For the first time, a DKI Jakarta representative managed to advance to the final round. This shows the growing enthusiasm of DKI Jakarta to take part in this quiz competition,” she said.

Furthermore, she said 38 provinces in Indonesia sent representatives to the 2026 MPR RI Four Pillars quiz. She said the involvement of all provinces showed the widening reach of Four Pillars socialisation through the competition. “In 2026, the participants are not only from the provincial level, but also from the district level and from areas that are quite far away. This means that socialisation of the Four Pillars through the quiz competition has been able to reach even wider,” she said.

She expressed hope that the implementation of the MPR RI Four Pillars quiz in coming years could continue to be developed with a wider reach. She said the online selection mechanism, which has now reached the district/city level, needs to be continuously strengthened so that information and opportunities to take part in the quiz can be felt by more schools in various regions. “We from the MPR hope that in 2027 the Four Pillars socialisation activity through this quiz competition can be continued with an even wider reach,” she said.

“We hope that in 2027 the information will spread further. If now the district/city level selection is done online, we hope that later it can reach even further down,” she added. She stressed that equalising the reach of the Four Pillars quiz is an important part of the MPR RI’s efforts to strengthen the younger generation’s understanding of national values. With an increasingly wide reach, the quiz is expected not only to produce outstanding students, but also a young generation capable of understanding, reasoning and applying the values of the Four Pillars in social, national and state life.
