Siti Fauziah, Acting Secretary General of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR RI), has urged micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKM) to continually improve product quality so they can compete in both national and international markets.

She made the remarks while attending a coaching session, gathering and creative economy and UMKM product curation event ahead of the launch of Pasar Jadoel Reborn Sapta Tirta Pabelan in 2026, held in Pabelan village, Matesih district, Karanganyar Regency, on Saturday (11/7).

According to Siti Fauziah, UMKM are the backbone of the national economy, making a major contribution to job creation while driving the community’s economic wheels. Therefore, capacity-building for UMKM players must be carried out continuously so that products can remain competitive amid global competition.

“UMKM are the backbone of Indonesia’s economy and must continue to be pushed to move up a class. UMKM products must have good quality, clear legality, attractive packaging, strong branding, and be able to harness digital marketing so they can compete in national and even international markets,” said Siti Fauziah in her statement on Sunday (12/7/2026).

She regarded Pasar Jadoel Reborn Sapta Tirta Pabelan as having an innovative concept because it combines cultural potential, tourism and community economic empowerment within a single area. She considered this development model capable of serving as an example of sustainable community-based economic development.

“I see Pasar Jadoel Reborn as having a very good concept because it brings together culture, tourism and the people’s economy in one area. This spirit of gotong royong (mutual cooperation) needs to be maintained so it can become an example of community-based tourism development that drives the local economy,” she said.

She also appreciated the synergy established between the regional government, UMKM players, the creative economy community, the business world and local residents in preparing for the launch of Pasar Jadoel Reborn Sapta Tirta Pabelan. According to her, this collaboration is important capital for strengthening the people’s economy while preserving local cultural values.

Meanwhile, Yonatan Liliek Prihartanto, General Chair of the Pasar Jadoel Reborn Sapta Tirta Pabelan Association, expressed appreciation and gratitude to the Acting Secretary General of the MPR RI and all parties who have supported the organisation of the coaching and creative economy product curation activities.

“We extend our deepest thanks and appreciation to the Acting Secretary General of the MPR RI and all parties who have provided support, energy, thought, time, prayers and other assistance so that this event could run well, smoothly and in a spirit of togetherness,” he said.

Yonatan said the success of the event was the result of collaboration among various stakeholders. He hopes that the coaching and product curation activities that have been carried out will be a first step in strengthening Pasar Jadoel Reborn Sapta Tirta Pabelan as a cultural tourism destination, a creative economy centre, and a vehicle for UMKM empowerment capable of delivering real benefits to the people of Karanganyar Regency.

Through this coaching and product curation activity, it is hoped that a creative economy ecosystem rooted in local potential will emerge, one capable of strengthening collaboration between government, communities, the business world and all stakeholders in building regional economic independence. With this synergy, Pasar Jadoel Reborn Sapta Tirta Pabelan is expected to develop into one of Karanganyar Regency’s cultural tourism icons, improving community welfare through the strengthening of the UMKM and creative economy sectors.
