The Village Financial System (Siskeudes) has achieved global recognition after receiving an Honourable Mention at the United Nations Public Service Awards (UNPSA) 2026. The award serves as international acknowledgement of the Indonesian government’s efforts to strengthen transparent and accountable village financial governance.

Director General of Village Governance at the Ministry of Home Affairs, La Ode Ahmad P. Bolombo, stated that Siskeudes is a collaborative product of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Development Finance Comptroller (BPKP). The system was developed as an implementation of Law Number 6 of 2014 on Villages. “Siskeudes is a tool to realise accountability and transparency for village governments in managing village finances,” La Ode said at the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform office in Jakarta on Monday (29/6).

He explained that since its initial implementation in 2015, Siskeudes has been continuously expanded and is now used in nearly 75,000 villages, covering approximately 95 per cent of all villages in Indonesia. For its contribution to supporting transparency, accountability, and enhancing public trust in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the system was awarded the Honourable Mention at the UNPSA 2026 in Tbilisi, Georgia. As a form of appreciation, the United Nations invited a delegation comprising the Minister of Home Affairs, the Head of BPKP, and the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform to receive the award at the end of June 2026.

La Ode added that the success of Siskeudes has also been appreciated by the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform as a public service innovation that strengthens governance at the central, regional, and village levels. He noted that this achievement provides momentum for the Ministry of Home Affairs to strengthen the integration of the village financial and asset management information system with the Regional Government Information System of the Republic of Indonesia (SIPD RI). This integration is expected to harmonise development planning and budgeting between the central government, regional governments, and village governments. “SIPD RI will certainly synchronise not only development planning and budget planning between the central and regional levels, but will also synergise with development planning and financial management in villages,” La Ode said.

He revealed that the online-based implementation of Siskeudes currently covers 319 regencies and cities. Furthermore, the Ministry of Home Affairs continues to encourage the digitalisation of village financial management through the implementation of online-based non-cash transactions integrated with the banking system. To date, 67 regencies and cities have implemented non-cash transactions in village financial management. The Ministry hopes this number will continue to grow so that more villages can utilise digital transaction systems to minimise the potential for irregularities in village financial management.
