Sira Village Mall Opens on Serangan Island, Partnering with MSMEs and International Brands
The Sira Village Grand Outlet Bali officially opened in the Kura Kura Bali Special Economic Zone (SEZ) on Serangan Island, Denpasar, on Friday (31/7/2026). Spanning 4.8 hectares, the mall features hundreds of products ranging from local MSMEs to renowned international brands.
Tantowi Yahya, President Commissioner of the Kura Kura Bali SEZ and President Director of Sira Village, stated that the mall was designed to evoke the atmosphere of a village, with diverse products available in every outlet. “It is a place where people can stroll leisurely, enjoy the sunset with their families, before heading to the airport with a cup of coffee and their final memories of Bali,” said Tantowi during the soft opening.
He expressed his belief that shopping is an integral part of a high-quality travel experience that leaves lasting stories for tourists. “We want to demonstrate that world-class destinations do not have to lose their local identity; rather, it is their local identity that serves as a differentiator,” Tantowi explained.
With hundreds of MSMEs involved, Tantowi noted that Sira Village is projected to absorb 1,000 workers and stimulate the local economy. In addition to offering local and international products, Sira Village is equipped with flight information services, allowing shoppers to monitor flight schedules periodically.
“We believe the greatest concern for tourists shopping before a flight is the fear of missing their plane. Therefore, Sira Village serves as a mall in Bali that provides live flight schedule information, so visitors can shop peacefully without fear of being late,” explained Tantowi.
Sira Village is a collaborative venture between Indonesia and Japan, with an investment value reaching Rp 1.5 trillion. “However, more important than the scale of investment is how this place grows alongside Bali and its people,” he added.
Meanwhile, Rizal Edwin Manansang, Secretary General of the National Council for Special Economic Zones (Denas KEK), added that the opening of Sira Village Grand Outlet Bali could enhance economic growth within the tourism sector. “Amidst evolving global dynamics, tourism plays a vital role in driving economic growth and providing direct benefits to the community,” said Edwin.
Edwin also noted that Sira Village could serve as a model for increasing the competitiveness of Indonesian SEZs against neighbouring countries such as Vietnam, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand in tourism development. “Through Kura-Kura Bali, we can attract more tourists to Indonesia compared to our neighbouring countries,” Edwin concluded.
