Singkawang Immigration Deports Four Chinese Nationals for Data Violations

The Singkawang Class I Immigration Checkpoint (TPI) has deported four Chinese nationals suspected of violating immigration regulations by recording the personal data of Indonesian citizens without permission. The Head of the Immigration Intelligence and Enforcement Section, Achmad Aswira, stated on Wednesday that the four individuals, identified by the initials CH, WH, WP, and YC, were deported via Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and have been subjected to an entry ban. “The four Chinese nationals are suspected of violating Article 75 paragraph (1) of Law Number 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration because they collected and recorded the personal data of Indonesian citizens, including passport data, without the permission of the data owners, which could endanger public security and order,” he said. He explained that the immigration administrative action is part of law enforcement efforts against foreign nationals suspected of engaging in activities that contravene the provisions of the legislation within the working area of the Singkawang Immigration Office. “This step was taken to anticipate potential vulnerabilities and to optimise the supervision of the presence and activities of foreign nationals in Singkawang City and its surrounding areas,” he added. Achmad noted that public participation plays a crucial role in supporting immigration law enforcement. The public is expected to promptly report any suspected immigration violations committed by foreign nationals. “The active role of the community in providing information regarding suspected immigration violations is an important part of supporting immigration law enforcement and maintaining security, public order, and the sovereignty of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia,” he said. All actions were carried out in accordance with Law Number 6 of 2011 on Immigration as part of efforts to maintain order and security in the region.
