Singer Piche Kota Arrested as Suspect in High School Student Rape Case in Belu

Singer and Indonesian Idol contestant Petrus Yohannes Debrito Armando Jaga Kota, known professionally as Piche Kota, has been formally detained by Belu Resort Police (Polres) in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). Piche Kota was detained following confirmation that he had recovered from vertigo.

According to reports, Piche Kota was detained on Wednesday, 11 March 2026 in the early hours of the morning.

“At 01:39 Wita this morning, investigators from the Criminal Investigation Unit of Belu Resort Police executed the detention of the suspect with initials PK,” said Belu Police Chief AKBP I Gede Eka Putra Astawa.

Astawa explained that the detention was carried out following a review of bail conditions and a decision for further detention. Piche Kota is currently held in a cell at Belu Resort Police for continued legal proceedings.

According to Astawa, the detention was authorised after police reviewed his health status on Tuesday, 10 March 2026, with a medical team confirming his condition had improved. Hospital medical treatment had been completed.

Piche Kota is suspected of gang-raping a high school student with initials ACT, aged 16, in Belu. The alleged rape involved Piche Kota and two associates, Roy Mali and Rifal Sila. Roy Mali and Rifal Sila have already been detained by police.
