Singer Bebizie Testifies as Witness in Rita Widyasari Graft Case

Singer Bebizie Sri Mulyati was questioned by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) as a witness in a graft case involving former Kutai Kartanegara Regent Rita Widyasari. “I was summoned because of a payment transaction, so I explained that I was a singer,” Bebize said after her examination at the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta on Thursday. She clarified that the payment was for her professional singing services at several events in East Kalimantan. “I explained that in 2017–2018, I sang several times in East Kalimantan. A company invited me,” she stated. The case originated when the KPK named Rita Widyasari, along with Hery Susanto Gun, President Director of PT Sawit Golden Prima, and Khairudin, Commissioner of PT Media Bangun Bersama, as suspects in a graft case on 28 September 2017. Rita was suspected of receiving gratuities related to the issuance of a palm oil plantation location permit. The KPK later expanded the investigation and, on 19 February 2025, revealed allegations that Rita also received gratuities from the coal mining sector, valued at USD 5 per metric tonne of coal produced.
