Singaporean Man Murders Girlfriend in Bali, Hides Body in Boarding House Room

A Singaporean citizen, identified by the initials MZ (26), has been arrested for allegedly murdering his girlfriend, AS (26), in a boarding house room in the Pedungan area of Denpasar, Bali. The victim’s body was left in the room, where it began to decompose.

The crime came to light on Wednesday (15/7/2026) after the victim’s sister, RA, visited the location because she could not reach AS. Investigations revealed that AS was allegedly killed by the perpetrator on Saturday (11/7).

Prior to the discovery, the suspect’s new girlfriend, DP, had stayed in the room and noticed a foul smell. According to Denpasar Police Public Relations Head Iptu I Gede Adi Saputra Jaya, when DP asked MZ about the source of the stench, he became angry and punched the wall, telling her not to ask questions.

When RA arrived at the boarding house to check on her sister, she found the victim’s body hidden under a pile of dolls. She also encountered the suspect and struck him before he fled on a motorcycle. Police later apprehended MZ on Jalan Bypass Ngurah Rai shortly after arriving at the scene. The Denpasar Police Criminal Investigation Unit has detained MZ and named him a suspect.
