Central Java is once again a target for foreign investment. Singapore-based company Impact of Asia (IOA) Global Pte Ltd is exploring long-term investment by bringing potential investors from China and Europe to inject capital into the province. The commitment emerged during a meeting between IOA Global Executive Chairman Daryl Tan Chen Ming and Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi at the Governor’s Office on Tuesday (14/7). A delegation of investors from Fujian and Xiamen, China, is scheduled to arrive in October 2026 to finalise several cooperation agreements. Daryl stated that in addition to building high-tech manufacturing industries, his party also aims to develop cooperation in vocational education through student and lecturer exchanges, research, and workforce training. One of the companies being brought in is a high-tech footwear manufacturer from China that is considering building a production facility in Central Java. “This is a long-term commitment, not just investment but also education. We want to bring technology transfer while improving the quality of human resources in Central Java,” he said. Governor Ahmad Luthfi stated that the Central Java Provincial Government is ready to provide legal certainty, accelerate licensing, and prepare industrial areas according to investor needs. According to him, investment must create jobs, so the government continues to strengthen the quality of human resources through nearly 1,500 vocational schools, polytechnics, and Job Training Centres (BLK). “Our BLKs guarantee that the workforce’s skills are ready to be accepted by companies. Investment of Rp110 trillion in 2025 was able to absorb nearly 257,000 workers,” Luthfi said. Data from the Central Java Provincial Government shows that Singapore remains one of the largest investors in the province. From 2022 to the first quarter of 2026, realised investment from Singapore reached Rp32.158 trillion. In the first quarter of 2026 alone, Singapore was the largest foreign investor with an investment value of Rp3.333 trillion, accounting for approximately 25.8 percent of total foreign direct investment entering Central Java.
