Singaporean couple's home caught in Web
SINGAPORE (AP): Ashley and Raymond Tang can turn the lights on in their Singapore home from anywhere in the world.
The couple can also control their television, blender, air conditioner, stereo, computer or any other appliance from any corner of the globe -- as long as they have access to the Internet.
The Tangs live in Singapore's first "Internet home" which was officially launched on Thursday. Their four-room apartment has been wired with high-speed Internet connections and they have touch screens in every room to control their appliances, access information and order goods for delivery.
If they are running low on noodles, they can swipe the old noodle package across the touch-screen bar code scanner, sending the product information to the grocery store. The store will then deliver the noodles to their door.
