Singapore tourist arrivals up 12%
SINGAPORE: Visitor arrivals in Singapore rose 12 percent in March to 625,603, with double-digit increases in the number of both holiday and business travellers, the tourism board said Tuesday.
Indonesia, China and Japan were the top sources of travellers but there was also a marked increase in the number of visitors from Thailand and the Philippines, it said in a statement.
Business-related travel climbed 17 percent, while holiday arrivals were up 11 percent. Hotel occupancy rates in March were put at an average 80 percent, up from 71 percent the previous year. -- AFP
