Singapore Launches First National Standard for Tree Pruning

Singapore has launched its first national standard for tree management, establishing unified guidelines for pruning practices in tropical urban environments to enhance tree health, public safety, and industry standards. The Practical Guidelines for Tree Pruning in the Tropical Urban Landscape sets common standards and best practices for the industry, the National Parks Board and the Landscape Industry Association (Singapore) said in a statement on Tuesday (30/6). The new framework aims to align local tree care practices with international standards while tailoring them to tropical urban conditions. Authorities noted that existing practices were largely based on guidelines developed for cities and tree species in temperate regions.
